Quick Pause

QUICK PAUSE! We’re taking this week to recenter and refocus on why we dove into these topics in the first place. We’ve spoken about toxins in our homes, gardens, golf courses and parks, but how do they relate, and why do they matter? In 2019, more than 16,000 children were diagnosed with cancer. 15% of these children will not survive beyond 5 years.
These numbers are scary, and it’s even scarier to realize that our entire environment around us is potentially playing a part. So many of the products we consistently use in various aspects of our lives have been made available without true understanding of their impact on our kids’ health. We’re extremely hopeful that through efforts of learning and acting on the focus of prevention, we can drive these numbers down and save lives. Not focusing on childhood cancer prevention is a missed opportunity, and as Bridget mentioned last week, all it takes is someone to begin the conversation, and one conscious effort to fight childhood cancer. This would be a great time to review all our blogs to date!
