Janus and Associates

I’d like to introduce Tom Janus of Janus & Associates. Tom has been a trusted advisor and friend of our family for years and was instrumental in helping us envision our philanthropic response to Michael’s wish to do something for pediatric brain cancer research. That response being the creation of the Swifty Foundation!
In the early years Tom was Swifty’s tax accountant and advisor, giving us a very generous friends and family rate for his work on Swifty’s behalf. As Swifty grew, Tom helped us in the decision-making process to transition from a private to a public charity effectively putting himself out of work. Acknowledging we would be better off with an accountant more familiar with public charity accounting he recommended our current accountant Gloria. Gloria seamlessly took over for Tom and has been a huge help handling our audits and bookkeeping. Tom also referred us to Desmond Ahern as our auditors. So, he is well connected to other experts in the field and is batting 1000 for us!
Besides the work Tom has done for us he and his family have been generous Swifty supporters. Not only sending generous checks but also donating his beloved Blackhawks tickets for a fundraiser. Our family can attest to how incredible Tom’s tickets are because Tom also hosted Michael, Ian and Al at his 12th row (right behind the glass) seats at a game. Tom has always taken a personal interest in the work we are doing for the families we serve and has helped us guide Michael’s Master Plan to where it is today.
