Raising funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research
There are several reasons for this: Pediatric cancer research is underfunded. There are fewer economic incentives to develop treatments for children. And cancer in kids is just more complicated to begin with because their bodies are growing and changing so fast.
All these problems are worth solving – and some wonderful advocates and organizations are already hard at work. However, what Swifty keeps hearing over and over is: there’s just not enough donated tissue for researchers to learn from.
Even when the funding for research is there, without tissue researchers’ hands are tied. Their studies require donated tissue. That’s the problem we’re determined to help solve.
